Aly Khan is a Research Assistant Professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago. His research interests are in computational biology and bioinformatics, with a focus on developing novel computational and statistical methods to study the molecular and cellular systems that control immune function. In particular, he is interested in using non-parametric statistics, optimization, and related areas of machine learning to overcome many of the data-intensive roadblocks currently facing immunology. In addition to his academic research, he has spent some time developing computational algorithms to improve drug target discovery at Merck, and designed statistical models to analyze market impact as a Summer Associate on the program trading desk at Bank of America. Dr. Khan received his PhD from Cornell University in 2012, where he completed his graduate studies in computational biology in a joint program with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. From 2012 to 2014 he was a fellow at the Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology at the University of Chicago.
