About David Weiner

Dr. David Weiner directs a translational molecular immunology research team focused on creating novel approaches for disease prevention and treatment using synthetic nucleic acid technology. With help from collaborators, his group is one of the pioneering research teams in the field of DNA vaccines and immunotherapies and has developed the first clinical studies of DNA vaccines. Dr. Weiner is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and sits on multiple academic and industry advisories and review panels. He is highly committed to developing the careers of young scientists and has been an avid trainer, advisor, and advocate for students, fellows, and junior faculty.
