About The Forum

Join the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and HVP on Thursday, October 1st, for a special webinar: “The Next Great Frontier: COVID Vaccine Development.”

As part of the Harvard Chan School’s 2020 Alumni Week, this panel will explore the challenges and the possibilities of vaccine development. The event will start at 11 am EDT.

The Forum will feature experts like Dr. Albert Hofman, Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard Chan School, and Dr. Jaap Goudsmit, Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology and Immunology at Harvard Chan School.

They will discuss one of the main hurdles of developing an effective COVID vaccine: protecting aging populations. The world’s largest growing demographic has an immense disease burden and high morbidity and mortality in the current COVID-19 pandemic. Together with the Harvard Chan School, HVP sets out to change that. This year, we launched the Human Immunomics Initiative. Our goal is to decipher effective immunity for aging adults, to better protect them against diseases like COVID-19.
